My Journey:
From Hiccups to
Agent Representation!
One day, my six year old niece had the hiccups. She was not happy. So to distract her, I made up a silly story about a princess who got the biggest, loudest hiccups the kingdom had ever heard.

"Uncle Matty! You should write stories. They're so funny."

I would always make up stories on the fly. It was my nieces and nephews laughter that would keep me going.

"Okay, my little princess, I will write down these stories."Â

And the rest as they say is history.

I'm lucky to be represented by The Seymour Agency and I'm currently on submission through my fearless and amazing agent Joyce Sweeney.Â
I could not do what I do without my amazing dedicated, helpful, encouraging and courageous critique group. They cheer me on every time we get together and make my writing better.

As a member of 12x12 Challenge for the last ten years, my picture book writing has been elevated to submission ready. It's a nurturing and professional family that is beyond caring and passionate about publishing books kids want to read.

And there's nothing more fulfilling that to help other writer succeed. I'm honored to have been a judge for the on-line Picture Book Party Contest.
